Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the venue?

The name of the venue is Camp Holiday Trails.

The address is: 400 Holiday Trails Lane Charlottesville, Va. 22903

There is signage for the venue as you get closer. We will have volunteers near the camp entrance and camp office to direct traffic.

What should I bring with me?

If you intend to bring your own bedding, please make sure to include a pillow. Volunteers will bring some extra blankets, but pack according to your sleeping preferences. All cabins have outlets, but you will need to provide your own charging cords and adapters. Please bring whatever it is you need to have a comfortable stay for two nights away from home. We will have both indoor and outdoor activities, so plan on staying cool, warm, or dry depending on the weather. Please bring bug spray and sunscreen. A hat may also be helpful in mitigating exposure to the sun and to ticks when hiking.

You might also like to bring books you enjoy, books you might want to reference during any of our workshops or talks, instruments to play at the fire, or any favorite drinks or snacks. You are permitted to bring your own alcoholic beverages (no glass bottles), but smoking/vaping is not permitted on the grounds

Are pets allowed?

We allow service animals in the lodges and require that owners leash them and clean up after them properly. Because lodges are shared, and we can't know the temperament of every pet, we can't allow non-service animals in the lodges.

Will there be child care?

At this time, there will not be childcare available for the weekend. Attendees with children must remain onsite with them at all times.

Can I arrive early or depart late to accommodate my flight times?

Our volunteers will be onsite one day before and one day after the event to facilitate set-up, clean-up, and planning sessions. We are happy to accommodate early arrivals and late departures within reason. Please contact us if you require an early arrival or late departure so that we can plan accordingly.

Which airport should I use if I’m flying in?

You can request a shuttle from the airport to the venue for your arrival, and one of our volunteers will arrange a ride for you.
